Mercury Theatre celebrates Black History Month with an evening of music and entertainment in the new and improved bar and restaurant of the New Mercury theatre with Omar Aziz, Antony Woodley and Poet, Lawrence Savage.
“Tony is a multi- instrumentalist, song writer.
He studied music & dance in West Africa & Cuba.
He has taught & performed at various festivals, events & venues both nationally & internationally.
He is very much looking forward to performing this evening”

Specialising in Gongs, Handpan, Flutes, Djembe and other world instruments
to provide an uplifting and diverse sound experience. “
A promising figure in contemporary literature, Lawrence Savage is a Sierra Leonian-Norwegian poet, novelist and author of Love Hates Us All. His writing is influenced by the social, mental and racial ambience of today’s society. He began writing poetry at the age of eight and started reading in front of an audience when he was twenty-two. Having notable readings for the Norwegian Art Association,
Colchester Arts Council and on BBC Radio on multiple occasions.
